Once Destiny 2's cinematic story campaign is over, the fun will just be beginning. Open world exploration is also on the docket in the FPS sequel, and today we have a brand new look at one of the destinations in Destiny 2, the European Dead Zone.

The star of the trailer is Devrim Kay, an NPC who looks to be a sort of liaison in the European Dead Zone. Kay will offer you quests and rewards as you finish objectives, as well as be your radio support as you move through the area.

Adventures, quests, Lost Sectors, patrols, and just general open world exploration all await you in destinations like the European Dead Zone. And it's just one of the locations in Destiny 2, with three others confirmed so far.

It seems as though Kay will function as a faction representative, with the EDZ becoming a new faction in the game, as the trailer shows the player trading in tokens to get engrams that will include EDZ-exclusive gear.

It looks like there will be a lot of things to do in Destiny 2. On top of the story campaign and the open world exploration, there will be Strikes, a new Raid, and competitive PvP.

Destiny 2 hits consoles on Sept. 6 and the PC on Oct. 24.
