When it comes to Destiny, there's no better or more challenging end-game PvE activity than its raids.

Today marks the launch of Destiny 2's first raid, Leviathan, which is now live and ready to be conquered. The Leviathan raid can be selected from the Director's Destinations map in a new area located in orbit surrounding Nessus. The Raid involves fighting the former Emperor of the Cabal empire on his flagship, a giant, planet-eating vessel that is literally large enough to devour worlds.

The launch day of a new raid is like a holiday in the world of Destiny, as many streamers and players will be racing for the title of world's first raid completion. The developers at Bungie even gather around in a theater to watch the attempts live.

Destiny 1's Raids were some of the best activities the game had to offer. Vault of Glass, Crota's End, King's Fall, and Wrath of the Machine were all noteworthy and challenging in their own right before they became a weekly ritual for Guardians everywhere.

Those who can conquer Leviathan will be awarded sweet exclusive loot and undoubtedly raise their Power level. In-game, the recommended level for the Raid is 270.

Are you ready to conquer the Leviathan? Good luck, Guardians.
