Daigo announces new sponsor
To be considered one of the best fighting game players in the world is truly an honor. Daigo, better know as “The Beast” has won two Evolution World Championships (EVO) in Street Fighter IV. The well-known Street Fighter player has also taken first place in other titles, such as Guilty Gear XX and Super Street Fighter II Turbo.
With Daigo having such an impressive resume, it was only a matter of time until he joined a company that features such an outstanding fighting gaming roster as Redbull eSports. Today, during his episode DaigoTheBeasTV, took place in Red Bull’s Japan Studio, “The Beast” announced his new sponsor.
Fans who didn't catch the stream received the news via Twitter. He joins a roster of other Street Fighter players such as, Masato "Bonchan" Takahashi and Darryl "Snake Eyez" Lewis, who had his own mini-series on Red Bull eSports called “Cultivation: House of Snake Eyez.” Even though Daigo will now play under the Red Bull banner, he is still sponsored by MadCatz.
Daigo has been seen playing in tournaments such as Red Bull Kumite where he took ninth place. In Red Bull Kumite, Daigo had to battle an old MadCatz teammate, Hajime "Tokido" Taniguchi, a match he lost 2-1. “The Beast” has also taken second place in the Capcom's Cups finals in Street Fighter IV.
Daigo's will be representing Red Bull next weekend in a tournament called, Stunfest which will be held in Rennes, France. Stunfest will be Daigo’s first event for Capcom Pro Tour event of the 2016 season.
