The Arkham Series Is No More

The voice actor for Batman himself says so.

If Kevin Conroy the voice of Batman is to be believed, there are no further plans for the Arkham series.

Rocksteady’s Arkham series came to a close with Arkham Knight, the final game in its Batman trilogy. But fans have been holding out for some sort of announcement from the studio since the Batman VR experience was released. It now seems that Warner Bros. are not considering continuing the franchise, however.

During a panel at Wizard World Nashville over the weekend, Conroy told a fan “I can’t believe that they’re not going to do another one, but they’re not”.

Warner Bros. is currently concentrating on the release of Lord of the Rings game Shadow of War. But there's something that needs to be pointed out here: Yes, Rocksteady’s Batman trilogy has ended yet but there are other developers under the WB banner who can make an ‘Arkham-esque’ game. Arkham City Origins was developed in-house at WB and interestingly enough, Conroy was not the voice of Batman for that game—so it is possible that there is another open-world Batman game on the way, just without Rocksteady.
