It’s been a few months in the making, but Nintendo is finally showing off its Animal Crossing mobile game this week.
There’s a special Nintendo Direct presentation surrounding the game planned for Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 12 p.m. in Japan, and 11 p.m. ET on Tuesday, Oct. 24. If you’ve been hungrily devouring Fire Emblem Heroes and Super Mario Run before that, this is your time to get excited about the newest mobile addition to Nintendo’s portfolio.
The Direct will run for 15 minutes, though Nintendo was quick to note that there will be no further hardware or software announcements during the presentation, so it should be 15 solid minutes of Animal Crossing Mobile, or whatever the game’s name turns out to be.
Animal Crossing’s mobile version was actually announced back in spring 2016, and while it was originally meant to be one of Nintendo’s first releases for smartphones, Nintendo has since changed up its mobile plans. Fire Emblem Heroes debuted in February, and players have really taken to its “collect ‘em all” nature with the various heroes up for grabs.
The upcoming Nintendo Direct should make for a pretty exiting reveal, especially since Nintendo’s mobile methods have been intriguing ever since Miitomo’s launch. We’ll be sure to bring you all the mobile Animal Crossing news that springs up from the Direct, but make sure to keep an eye out for it at the official Nintendo landing page so you can see it all unfold.
