Welcome back to Streamer Watch! where we showcase some of the top decks of Hearthstone’s best streamers! I hope you all had a great Christmas and are enjoying some time off work or school or you’re super rich and this is just another day of bliss! The holidays have been a bit crazy for me and my hopes of continuing this series during that time was dashed, but here are some streamer’s decks over the past week at varying points of the ladder. Look for another installment in a few days!
[toc]Trump’s Reno Zoo[/toc]
This deck is the most innovative deck I’ve seen lately so I wanted to lead off with it. It’s a Warlock Zoo deck that fights for board control and overwhelms the opponent with efficient trades, sticky minions, and burst to finish out the game. But we also have, in this deck, a major come-back mechanism in Mr. [card]reno jackson[/card], however this is not the most utilized purpose of this bold explorer. Instead, Reno allows you to dig deep into your deck without worrying about the drawback to your health that excessive tapping will bring. An important note: [card]wrathguard[/card] is in this deck because he can trade with anything early and health isn’t much of a concern, however do not play him against a warrior with a lot of armor or late in the game when he can potentially gain armor quickly. A huge [card]shield slam[/card] on your [card]wrathguard[/card] can bring about a surprising death (a warrior did this to me when my [card]piloted shredder[/card] coughed up a [card]wrathguard[/card] upon death.
[toc]Reynad’s Control Priest[/toc] [deck]18961[/deck]
I thought Reynad playing Priest was interesting enough alone to post. This control Priest is built to crush aggro with two copies of [card]pyromancer[/card], [card]deathlord[/card], and [card]sludge belcher[/card], and [card]flash heal[/card], while still being viable in the late game with x 2 [card]entomb[/card] and [card]justicar trueheart[/card].
[toc]Forsen’s Malygos Rogue[/toc] [deck]18966[/deck]
Forsen Legend 463
A “miracle” rogue variation which seeks to draw a massive amount of cards with [card]gadgetzan auctioneer[/card] + cheap spells such as [card]backstab[/card], [card]preparation[/card], [card]deadly poison[/card], and multiple [card]the coin[/card]’s from [card]tomb pillager[/card]. Then our good friend “the combo god” [card]emperor thaurissan[/card] discounts a pile of cards one of which should be [card]malygos[/card] and a few spells to later OTK with a +5 spell damage flurry.
[toc]Forsen’s Mech Mage[/toc]
A really fun deck to climb with especially with the inclusion of the new [card]gorillabot a-3[/card]. This mech deck is geared more toward the late game with a couple [card]clockwork knight[/card]’s and a [card]piloted sky golem[/card]. If you’re looking for a deck that overwhelms the board with strong minions than give this one a shot!
[toc]BlackFireIce’s Midrange Druid[/toc]
I liked this take on Mid-range Druid and how well it did against most decks. Note the 6 early taunts in [card]sen’jin shieldmasta[/card], [card]druid of the claw[/card], and [card]sludge belcher[/card] no doubt combating aggro shaman. While the current meta has really cut out a lot of the aggro shamans this variation forces the secret pally to trade into you thereby mitigating the secrets.
[toc]Ryzen’s Oil Rogue[/toc]
Ryzen is one of the best rogue players out there right now and this is his take on oil rogue. I find it interesting that he foregoes [card]tomb pillager[/card] for x 2 [card]piloted shredder[/card]’s and x 2 [card]violet teacher[/card]’s. The more I thought about it and watched this deck in action, pillager is not missed and the extra shredder’s or teacher’s always end up being very valuable. The oil rogue is centered around [card]tinker’s sharpsword oil[/card] in combination with [card]blade flurry[/card] and is pretty skill intensive. If you are proficient with the decisions turn-to-turn than this should now be a good time to climb those extra ranks or push for Legend!
[toc]Lowelo’s Freeze Mage[/toc]
A fairly typical Mage list that doesn’t run a [card]pyroblast[/card] but instead focuses on clearing the early game easily with the inclusion of 1 x [card]explosive sheep[/card] and 1 x [card]cone of cold[/card]. As always, the goal of the deck is to stall the game with: Board Clears = [card]frost nova[/card] + [card]doomsayer[/card], [card]blizzard[/card], and [card]flamestrike[/card]; Board Freeze = an early [card]doomsayer[/card] essentially “freezing” any plays by the opponent, [card]frost nova[/card], [card]blizzard[/card], and [card]cone of cold[/card]. Heavy card draw to dig for your win conditions with: [card]loot hoarder[/card], [card]acolyte of pain[/card], and [card]arcane intellect[/card]. Win conditions: [card]emperor thaurissan[/card] discounting burn spells,[card]alexstrasza[/card] into following turn burn spells, [card]archmage antonidas[/card] + discounted spells filling your hand with [card]fireball[/card]’s.
I really hope these snapshots of great players and how they are climbing the ladder helps you decide on the best approach for you to reach ladder greatness! If there are any specific streamers you’d like me to cover I will do my best to accommodate your request :).
As always, thank you for reading!
