Gaming’s biggest night of the year, The Game Awards, is just around the corner. Now in its 11th year, the annual celebration of the gaming industry and those that contribute to it is set for early December.
While the main attraction of the award show is to see which game snags the grand prize, Game of the Year, the huge host of teasers and trailers that play throughout the ceremony is also a draw as players prepare for what’s in store for next year.

How to watch The Game Awards 2025
The Game Awards are available to watch live (and for free) on almost every major online streaming platform, including Twitch, YouTube, Kick, Facebook, X, Instagram, and Prime Video.
The Game Awards has an official channel on each of these platforms, which will have the most up-to-date stream to watch on the night of the ceremony.
What time is The Game Awards 2025
The Game Awards officially kicks off on Thursday, Dec. 11 at 7:30pm EST. More time zones are listed below.

- 6: 30pm CST (Central N.A.)
- 12:30am GMT (United Kingdom)
- 9:30am JST (Japan)
- 11:30am AEDT (Eastern Australia)
The actual award ceremony begins around 8pm EST, but the first half hour is often full of smaller, indie game reveals before proceeding to the bigger AAA action in the show proper. Tuning in early is nice to see some interesting teasers, but any fans only interested in the main event can safely wait to tune in.
In the past, The Game Awards has had a pretty significant runtime from the beginning of the ceremony to a credits roll. Last year, the 2024 show lasted around 3 hours and 40 minutes, which makes it likely that this year will last a similar length of time. While this does seem like an incredibly long award ceremony, celebrating an entire year of gaming alongside all the reveals and teasers jam-packed into the show can take up a significant chunk of time. Hopefully this year the winners are allowed to enjoy the limelight for more than 30 seconds before being asked to “wrap it up” like in 2023.

2025 is a year of stiff competition in The Game Awards, though it seems that the clear frontrunner this year is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, as it already won GOTY at the Golden Joystick Awards. The French title has 12 nominations across a huge swath of categories, a first for the award show.
