Jung “Fantasy” Myung Hoon announced today that he would be joining Swiss esports organization Dead Pixels.

Jung was one of several Korean players to leave their former Korean teams while hoping to move into the international scene. In September, he left the biggest name in pro StarCraft teams, SK Telecom T1, along with Jung “Rain” Yoon Jong and Won “Parting” Lee Sak.

At the time, Jung offered that he was looking for a “new experience.” He seems to have found it in Switzerland.

I join the swiss team @DeadPixelsCH 🙂 thank you 😀 cheer me and my team~!

Jung made his name playing StarCraft: Brood War in the wildly competitive Korean Proleague. He most notably qualified for five Starleague finals, finishing runner-up a record four times. His sole championship victory came over fellow frequent runner-up Song “Stork” Byung Goo.

Jung’s efforts in StarCraft 2 have been less successful, as he has yet to make such deep runs in the game’s biggest tournaments. The dramatic change of scenery Dead Pixels will provide after seven years spent with the most prestigious StarCraft team in Korea could help to revitalize the veteran player.

Dead Pixels has quietly assembled a strong StarCraft 2 roster that also includes Korean professionals Bang “True” Tae Soo and Jo “Patience” Ji Hyun.

A resurgence for the Terran player would be an exciting development for fans, as Jung was known for his quirky plays and unorthodox builds during his prime.

Jung is qualified for and set to compete in the upcoming Starleague season.
