Rainbow Six Siege X Year 10 roadmap

The launch of Rainbow Six Siege X is just around the corner, and Ubisoft has revealed everything it has planned for Year 10 of its tactical shooter.

Siege X will be the biggest evolution in the franchise’s history and launch on the same day as the season of Year 10, Operation Daybreak. While we have the details for the upcoming season, we also know what’s in line for the rest of the year.

Operation Daybreak brings a new game mode, modernized maps, and more

Dual Front

Operation Daybreak is the second season of Rainbow Six Siege X, and it will bring a new and permanent six-vs-six game mode called Dual Front. It will combine several previous game modes, such as hostage and secure area, and offer multiple ways of ending a match in a winning way. You’d be able to respawn, and the best part of Dual Front is that it will feature both Attackers and Defenders on the same team.

Modernized maps and new forms of destruction

We will also get modernized versions of some current and classic Siege maps, such as Bank, Border, Chalet, Clubhouse, and Kafe, with new lighting, shadows, and 4K textures.

Destructible ingredients are being introduced as well with Operation Daybreak. Items such as fire extinguishers, gas pipes, and metal detectors can be destroyed, providing players with new tools and ways of planning their strategy of attack and defense.

Advanced Rappelling and the new Pick and Ban system

Rappelling is getting advanced. We will be able to experience a more realistic and immersive rappel navigation with smoother and improved controls. For the first time ever, we will be able to run and jump around building corners horizontally.

We will also get a new Pick and Ban system, where both teams can simultaneously ban one enemy Operator per round (and up to six bans in a match). It will reset once the team roles swap.

Weapon inspection and Clash remaster

Starting Rainbow Six Siege X season two, we will be able to inspect weapons like in Counter-Strike and Call of Duty. All that money and time spent collecting Alpha Packs to collect the Black Ice skin for various weapons will finally be fruitful, as you’d be able to appreciate and enjoy the beauty of the weapon skins in full glory.

Clash is getting remastered this season. She can now anchor her shield and roam freely within the maps. She will also get the ability to remotely control her shield and tase enemies approaching it.

Other additions

Unranked and Showdown game modes and events will make a return, audio is getting overhauled for more realistic intel, balancing updates, and a lot more.

Year 10 season 3

Rainbow Six Siege X Year 10 season three will kick off with a new Defense Operator from Switzerland and weapon.

Dual Front will get an update with a new Neutral Sector with more Operator rotations. More modernized maps will join the roster, namely Consulate, Lair, and Nighthaven Labs.

More in-game events to keep things fresh and spicy, and more balancing changes to keep the meta fresh and competitive.

Year 10 season 4

Year 10 season four will be the last Operator of Y10, and it will start with an Attacker Remaster, but Ubisoft has yet to reveal which Operator they’ll be working on.

We will also get a new weapon that multiple Operators can use (similar to the Bailliff). As usual, Dual Front will continue getting updates, and more modernized maps (Theme Park and Skyscraper) will be added to the Ranked roster.

Since this is Year 10, the devs have a special 10-Year Anniversary in-game event planned. We are yet to get the details, but it will for sure be really exciting, and possibly recreate some nostalgic moments from the game’s history as well.
