All Timed Research tasks and rewards in Pokémon Go’s 2020 Halloween event

You can get Mega Gengar Energy for the first time.

Halloween is starting early in Pokémon Go and trainers can get a Mega Gengar for the first time in the game.

The Pokémon Go Halloween event will run from Oct. 23 to Nov. 3. Trainers will have until the end of the event to complete the Timed Research tasks and get Mega Gengar Energy.

Players need to have completed the Mega Budy Challenge Timed Research that took place from Sept. 22 to 28. Otherwise, this Mega Gengar Timed Research won’t be unlocked.

If you did receive this Timed Research, here all the tasks you have to complete to get Mega Gengar Energy.

Step one

  • Transfer 13 Pokémon – 10 Poké Balls
  • Catch 13 Ghost-type Pokémon – Ghastly Encounter
  • Catch 13 Dark-type Pokémon – Houndour Encounter

Total rewards: 500 Stardust

Step two

  • Make five Nice Throws in a row – Ghastly Encounter
  • Evolve four Pokémon – Haunter Encounter
  • Catch 94 Pokémon – Gengar (Halloween) Encounter

Total rewards: 1,000 Stardust

Step three

  • Claim Reward – 20 Gengar Mega Energy
  • Claim Reward – 20 Gengar Mega Energy
  • Claim Reward – 20 Gengar Mega Energy

Total rewards: 1,500 Stardust

Players can also catch Spiritomb by completing a certain Field Research task and by completing the new Halloween 2020 Special Research story, A Spooky Message Unmasked. Lucky trainers can even get a shiny version of Spiritomb.
