Tears of the Kingdom – where to find the Thundra Plateau cave

Right near the center of the Thundara Plateau, which is located southwest of the Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower, at the northwest end of Ludfo’s Bog, you can find an area where the cave lurks. However, there is no visible entrance. You guessed it, gaining entrance to the Thundra Plateau will require some puzzle-solving.

To enter the Thundra Plateau cave, you need to produce a shadow that passes over a particular point during the right time of day. Only then can you hope to enter the cave and claim a prize. Thankfully, around the Thundra Plateau cave entrance, you will find several mushroom-shaped trees that you can cut down to construct a huge column. Aim for five to six logs and use Ultrahand to stitch them together.

When you have your log constructed, use the Ultrahand ability again to grab one end of your constructed log. Just after noon, stand in the shadow of the south pillar, which stretches to the north at that time of day. Lift your log construction vertically, to continue the shadow so that it connects to the shadow cast by the north pillar. The cave will open.

If you don’t have an ax with you, you could probably use the Autobuild mechanic to create a similarly big structure to open up the entrance. Regardless of your entry creation, once you enter the cave you will be met with a chest housing the Mask of Awakening, part of the Awakening set based on, you guessed it, the remake of Link’s Awakening.
