Selfless Gaming DPS Daniel "Dafran" Francesca has been banned from all Blizzard-sanctioned events for the duration of competitive season five and deemed ineligible for Overwatch Contenders season zero and season one.

The actions follow a disruptive stream where Dafran simultaneously played erotic cat girl visual novel Nekopara and Overwatch, with the intent of throwing Overwatch matches. Dafran was not shy about his intentions, repeatedly saying on stream that he was trying to throw games. His troll antics will not come as a surprise to those familiar with Dafran and his streams, but the past few sessions of blatant bad behavior crossed a line for plenty of viewers—and for Blizzard.

"We have found that Dafran, from Overwatch Contenders team Selfless, has violated Rule 7.0 (Conduct) of the Overwatch Contenders Ruleset, which states the following: All competitors and spectators are required to act in a respectful sportsmanlike manner at all times," Blizzard wrote on the Overwatch Contenders site.

Selfless will be permitted to participate in Overwatch Contenders with a substitute player.

Dafran has also been suspended from Selfless for the time being. "While Dafran will no longer be playing with our team, we will be assisting him in finding help, counseling, and guidance that he needs to improve his mental and emotional well-being," Selfess said in a statement. While Selfess is looking to replace Dafran for the remainder of Overwatch Contenders season zero, the team is looking to support him should he come back "stronger and better than ever."

The 23-year-old Overwatch player previously responded to trolling allegations in a Twitlonger post, writing that he does not "give a shit" about him or his career, telling readers to "go fuck" themselves. Despite that, he intended to reform and "stop trolling" as his actions have begun to affect his teammates and organization.

Later, Dafran tweeted that he deserves the punishment imparted on him by Blizzard and Selfess.

Dafran's ban will come as a warning to Overwatch players unfamiliar with life in the spotlight. Unsportsmanlike and troll behavior will not be tolerated by Blizzard, and it could cost them their careers.
