Fans of TSM would love to see their tweet from twitter or Facebook post noticed by TSM and I am sure Redbull and Hyperx would also.

Social media engagement is not something that is discussed in esports ,and on game days the community is very active and excited. The above visuals are from my own personal research tracking hashtags, mentions, and team pages.

Flat-lining during off days is concerning because it illustrates the fact that organizations are not provoking their audience to engage. Engagement benefits all parties involved the fans that consume, and the organizations that now have tangible evidence proving the value of their brand.

Contest or giveaways often results in the same pattern of Flat-lining after they end. This is similar to what happens to organizations on off days. Brands have to keep the conversation going or create a new one. This involves more work from community managers as they are now not just keeping the community afloat.

Venture capitalists are banking on the Golden-age of esports to be right around the corner ,but the blueprints to succeed aren’t in place yet. Healthy ecosystems don’t just create themselves you have to build it around the needs of the system. Any content creator will tell you that having a large number of subs carry little to no value if they do not consistently come back to absorb their content. Organizations need to have feeds that compel their followers to daily check them out in fear that they missed something.

the EchoFox trends from Feb 8-21st

Although the engagements are lower the pattern holds true and this is something that the fans and teams can improve on.

Improvement in Social media has been seen ,but more can still be done. This isn’t something that gets solved overnight.

I believe in esports and I know pro-gaming isn’t going away anytime soon ,but I am passionately about esports growing and not just flat-lining similar to the current social media trend.
