“The 2016 competitive season is coming to an end, but not before we close out the year with a bang,” the press release stated. “This year, we’ll be bringing the 2016 IWC All-Star closer to the 2016 All-Star event that’s heading to Barcelona, Spain and it will be taking place a week before, on December 1-4.”

All-Stars is an end of year event that asks the fans to vote for their all-star team in all positions for an entire region. The IWC All-Stars is similar to that, but brings in players from the wildcard regions of BR, CIS, JP, LAN, LAS, OCE, SEA and TUR, who will form eight All-Star teams that will then be divided into Team Ice and Team Fire.

Considering the success of IWC regions this year, Riot seems to be giving them more exposure in the hopes of a better competition for them all in the long run.

The All-Stars team with the biggest point total at the end of the competition will qualify as the sixth and final team for the All-Star event taking place between Dec. 8-11 and will join up with fan-voted teams from the EU, NA, LCK, LPL and LMS regions.
