EU CWL 2000 Series Jan. 8 Recap

Don't know how your favorite EU side did in the first MLG GameBattles 2k of 2017? Don't worry, we have you covered.

With just over a month seperating European teams from the Gfinity Invitational, the clock is ticking on them not only being invited to that important tournament, but also to make one of the six group stage spots for MLG Atlanta.

For the sake of this recap not being the length of the entire Bee Movie script, we’ll give you a look at the 2K from the round-of-16 onwards, while also showing you the teams that could not make the cut. We also have the final standings, and the pro points given to teams, at the bottom of the article, with the top 16 sides listed.

With Splyce and Infused, the top-two teams in terms of pro points heading into the tournament, knocked out in the quarterfinals, a new team was bound to take pole position. And redeeming themselves after a disappointing MLG Vegas tournament, Team Orbit took down three straight top-16 sides en route to an 8k pro point payday.

Orbit will now be the number one team in EU after this 2K, with Splyce hovering dangerously above Elevate, who leaped over Supremacy by about 40 points.

Here’s what the complete action looked like:
