Royal Never Give Up vs. Splyce was a big game for both teams. RNG really needed to secure this win to go 2-0 in groups, and Splyce really needed to avoid going 0-2. Most analysts predicted RNG to be able to take this game, but they all would note that RNG has a very risky playstyle that could result in them losing purely on their own mistakes.
The draft went as follows:
RNG Splyce
Top: Kennen Gnar
Jungle: Lee Sin Olaf
Mid: Viktor Cassiopeia
ADC: Ezreal Sivir
Support: Nami Karma
Thanks to early game dominace from Uzi and Mata in the bottom lane, as well as mlxg in the jungle, RNG was able to get a huge lead. At the 18 minute mark, RNG was up 7k gold and a kill lead of 10-2.
The Uzi we have seen at Worlds in the past absolutely showed up in this game, proving that not only are PraY, Bang, and Deft Ezreal gods, but so is he.
The trio of Mata, Uzi and mlxg destroyed the wills of all Splyce players throughout the game. Azael is quoted as saying “Never have I seen such a dominant AD Carry performance as this.”
Uzi finished off Splyce with a Quadra kill that officially made them 2-0, while Splyce falls to 0-2. Finishing strong with 10 kills, Uzi looks like he is in classic Uzi form.
RNG appears to be an absolute threat to take the whole group and possibly more, but keep in mind that it’s only two games into the tournament; but you never know.
