A surprising number of League of Legends champions have a connection to souls. My first instinct was Lucian for the April 15 LoLdle, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The actual answer completely caught me off guard.

LoLdle quote April 15 hints
Hint 1: This champion hit the live servers in 2011.
While this League champion isn’t an OG, they’ve definitely not new. They were heavily outdated for years, but recently underwent a makeover in the form of a mid-scope update. This should hopefully put them more in line with modern champs.
Hint 2: This champion is top laner.
This champion is traditionally a top laner, but they’ve recently expanded to the jungle position. They actually have some of the highest win rates in both top and jungle in Patch 15.07. With their dominance in two roles, it’s surely only a matter of time before they get nerfed.
Hint 3: This champion has a Scandinavian name.
This champion’s name originally means “earth-worker” or “farmer.” A jester in William Shakespeare’s Hamlet shares this name. You rarely come across this name nowadays, and when you do, it sticks out like a sore thumb.
Still need help? We have the answer.
Who says “Those souls are not yours to keep”?

Answer: The champion who says “Those souls are not yours to keep” is Yorick, the Shepherd of Souls.
I was almost certain Lucian, Senna, or Thresh said this quote, but obviously not. It makes perfect sense that Yorick said this considering his lore. I admittedly rarely play the champion and didn’t realize he was “the Shepherd of Souls” until writing this article. It all adds up now.
How many guesses did it take you to get to Yorick? Let us know in the comments below and check back tomorrow for the next LoLdle puzzle!
