Desperate for some victories, Vitality came through in the clutch.

Vitality came into week six of the EU LCS Summer Split desperate for some victories. A recent losing streak had them losing ground in the race to the playoffs as they fell out of touch with league leaders Misfits, G2, and Fnatic.

They got a jump start yesterday when new jungler Mateusz “Kikis” Szkudlarek came in and helped them win a sloppy affair against GIANTS Gaming. Things should have gotten harder on Sunday against ROCCAT, another team vying for the playoffs.

Vitality went into the match with an interesting draft that looked light on damage outside of the splitpush Kled. With star mid laner Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro on Galio, they looked determine to play a more cohesive game around the side lanes.

And that’s exactly what they got. Vitality seized control in all lanes from level one, allowing Kikis to invade his counterpart, Jonas “Memento” Elmarghichi, who’s one of ROCCAT’s best players. Keeping tabs on the Nocturne allowed Vitality to keep pushing.

ROCCAT fought back but just had a hell of a time pushing Vitality out of the lanes or the jungle. When a huge bot lane fight went Vitality’s way, things started to slide even more in their direction.

Vitality are at their best when they’re proactive, and they kept up the pressure today. ROCCAT simply couldn’t do anything against Vitality’s aggression, and ceded major objectives all over the map. By the time they tried desperate gambles, Vitality were already too far ahead.

The win earned Vitality a clean 2-0 week and a place above ROCCAT in the EU LCS standings. They have a big test coming next week against Fnatic, while ROCCAT will try to bounce back against FC Schalke 04.
