Ever wonder what it’s like to be a professional League of Legends player competing for $2.2 million in the Riot World Championship?
A documentary series by Riot Games, Road to Worlds, chronicles the paths players take leading up to the biggest events in their careers.
The first episode, “Road to Worlds: The Beginning,” released four days ago, looks at the first two World Championships in 2011 and 2012 from the perspective of players like Fnatic’s Bora “YeLLoWStaR” Kim and Taipei Assassins’ marksman Cheng “bebe” Bo-Wei.
The follow-up, “Road to Worlds: The Next Level,” just hit YouTube and moves through the season 3 final at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The story follows SK Telecom T1 K sharpshooter Chae “Piglet” Gwang-jin and OMG top laner Gao “Gogoing” Di-Ping as they overcome tough family situations to make their pro gaming careers a reality.
The final episode, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the buildup to next week’s big event, will be released on Monday, Sept. 15.
