Renekton tops Most Picked list with an 81 percent pick rate in the LCS

Week 9 of the League of Legends Championship Series was, for Europe, a rocky one

Week 9 of the League of Legends Championship Series was, for Europe, a rocky one. All top-three teams went 1-1 while other teams are eager to close the gap in the fight for playoff seeding. Five teams are within one game of first place. North America, on the other hand, has seen the top three pull even further ahead, with the third place Counter Logic Gaming now five full games above fourth place Dignitas. Looking at the statistics, it’s clear why. The top three North American teams averaged 580 more gold-per-minute than the other five teams. That’s like having a bonus player on your team who does nothing but farm minions for gold. Compare that to the same statistic from Europe, where the bottom five actually have a higher average gold income rate—by just 18. It’s clear which side of the Atlantic has a more even playing field. Perhaps the most surprising stat is the reptilian champion, Renekton, who has been launched to the top of the “Most Picked” list with an 81 percent pick rate—and a handy 62 percent win rate when he is picked.
