Though Game 1 against Longzhu Incredible Miracle ended decisively against CJ Entus’ favor, MadLife’s Thresh hooks spelled a literal Death Sentence to Longzhu IM’s set win hopes.

Here is MadLife’s MVP interview!

Q. How are you feeling about your win today?

MadLife: We were shaky in Game 1. We were able to pull ourselves back from the danger zone starting from Game 2 and won, so I’m feeling pretty good. I think it’s really fortunate that we didn’t lose the set.

Q. What do you think is the reason for your dramatic collapse in Game 1?

MadLife: We chose a late-game composition and thought of keeping up with the opposing team in the early to mid-game. But Park “TuSin” Jong-ik played very aggressively. Our team had a really hard time trying to match that aggression.

Q. Did you have a resolution going into Game 2?

MadLife: We chose a comp that could play aggressively early game. I chose Thresh instead of Braum today because I was playing better on him. I think all of that practice started to show itself from Game 2 and thankfully, it was successful.

Q. Is there a reason why Park “Shy” Sang-myun chose Fizz for all three games?

MadLife: He wanted to increase his champion pool so he’s been practicing with Fizz a lot. We picked him because the practice results were great, and starting from Game 2 those efforts started to take effect and helped us take that victory.

Q. Is there a reason why Elise has been emerging as a jungler lately?

MadLife: Before, Elise had to prioritize her W. But starting with this patch her W can now be selected as a secondary skill. She’s become very strong for skirmishes in the jungle and so has been seeing increased play.

Q. You have just the match with Samsung remaining?

MadLife: We’ll be preparing hard to end the season cleanly. I think we’ll be saving strategies as much as possible for the Playoffs, so we won’t be doing anything too out of the ordinary for the Samsung match.

Q. Shin “CoCo” Jin-young picked Azir after the recent nerfs.

MadLife: CC chaining has definitely been harder to do. The champion itself is still very good and the build paths have changed. Coco was still able to do well and so I don’t think it affected the match very much.

Q. Resolutions going forward?

MadLife: If we are to put in a little more effort I think we’ll be able to hold a ticket to Worlds in our hands. Considering that we had some disappointing results during the Spring season, we’ll try that much harder in our remaining matches to make up for it.

Q. Any last comments you’d like to make?

MadLife: We’re able to conclude our season with a pretty decent standing, but I hope that you will expect an even better and improved CJ Entus going forward!
