Here is a recap of what happened:

Game One

After losing former jungler Joshua Dardoch Hartnett, Liquid was poised to have a rough time this series. They tried to prove everyone wrong by dominating NV early, but sub Lyonel Arcsecond Pfaender couldn’t carry his lead into late game. Despite how strong Liquid looked in the early game, they had a lot of trouble closing the game out. NV turned the game around, winning every fight post 20 minutes and securing game one.

Thanks to top laner Woo-Yeong “Seraph Shin going 5/4/9 on Kassadin and dropping over 35k damage, NV take momentum heading into game two.

Game Two

Once again, Liquid looked very strong early on in the game but couldn’t close it out. After around 15 minutes, NV began to take control of the map. Seraph on Irelia opened up the game by continuously shutting down Sam Lourlo Jackson’s Ekko and stopping him from messing with the back line. Liquid were constantly caught out and one step behind NV, resulting in the loss of game two.

Mid laner Geon-woo Ninja Noh successfully baited Liquid into bad fights through Vladimir’s insane teamfight sustain. Ending the game 3/1/5, Ninja help bring NV one step closer to facing Cloud9 tomorrow.

Game Three

This game was dominated by NV from the two-minute mark. NV took first blood on Arcsecond and took that advantage straight to the bank. AD carry Benjamin LOD deMunck and support Nickolas Hakuho Surgent spiraled bot lane and pushed their lead into the other lanes. Opening TL’s base at 19 minutes, obtaining a 14k gold lead at 25 minutes and three inhibitors down, NV pushed into Liquids base to secure the series.

LOD ended the game with a perfect score going 4/0/6 and cemented NV’s right to compete against Cloud9 tomorrow. Not to mention, LOD predicted a 3-0 win in NV’s favor, and he delivered.

With this win, NV secures their spot to compete against Cloud9. If they win tomorrow, they will face off against Immortals for a chance to represent North America on the Worlds stage as the third-seed.
