Chovy’s ridiculous win rate with Gen.G proves why he’s one of the best LoL players

Only excellence from the Church of Chovy.

For the longest time in League of Legends esports, Chovy has been regarded as the heir to Faker’s legacy—a prodigious mid laner rising through the ranks of the LCK. Although championships often slipped through his fingers in the past, Chovy appears to be experiencing the breakthrough of his career with Gen.G.

While a League player’s KDA or CS/minute can measure their success on the Rift, nothing matters more than winning matches, delivering consistent performances, and helping the team prevail.

From the KeSPA Cup 2021 to the LCK 2024 regional finals, Chovy has the highest win rate at 78.7 percent among all the mid laners in Korea, according to Leaguepedia. He also has the highest KDA and CS/minute, which shows his dominance over the years.

The LCK is home to some of the best mid laners in League—Faker, ShowMaker, Zeka, and Bdd—making Chovy’s current form even more impressive, as he consistently faces top-tier competition in domestic tournaments. He has won four LCK titles along with other MVP awards in recent times.

He hasn’t just proven himself domestically, but has also stood out internationally. From the 2022 Spring Split across all regions, including international competitions like Worlds and MSI, Chovy has again had the highest win rate among all mid laners, standing at 74.9 percent. According to Leaguepedia, Chovy also has the highest KDA at 6.29, which shows that he can hold his own against the world’s leading mid laners.

While internationally, MSI 2024 was Chovy’s major accomplishment, fans still want him secure his first Worlds title this year after Gen. G’s perfect run in the LCK. It may take time before he matches Faker’s legendary list of accolades, but Chovy is undoubtedly living up to the hype, setting his sights on his first Worlds championship later this year at Chengdu.
