How to revive players in PEAK

Revive your way to the top!

If you or your friends have been struggling to conquer the heights of PEAK without succumbing to falls, well, that’s the essence of the climbing-survival experience. The revive mechanic, however, can help dilute your frustration a bit by letting you reverse death, but not without a catch.

The latest indie hit by Landfall has got several of us trying to beat its steep cliffs and environmental oddities to reach the “peak” and claim a dashing victory. The challenges while climbing are tough enough that you’ll likely fall to your death, not just once, but multiple times in a single run. Thankfully, you’ll have some chances to revive yourself or your teammates, but you don’t want to overuse the benefit either.

Here’s how you can revive players in PEAK.

To begin with, there are multiple ways to revive players in PEAK:

  1. Using effigies
  2. Using Altars at Campfires (Temples)
  3. Cure them before they die

We’ll elaborate on these options to help you choose what’s best for your situation.

Effigies

This is a type of item you may find while exploring the mysterious island. Using an Effigy will let you bring back a dead teammate.

As convenient as an on-the-go revive option sounds, Effigies are a rare find. If you manage to find a couple of these magical dolls, I recommend saving them for later when you don’t have another option or need to bring a teammate back immediately.

Altars at Campfires

As you climb your way up in PEAK, you’ll come across Campfire spots that let you roast marshmallows and progress to the next region. You’ll also find an Altar or Temple near a Campfire. Interact with the Altar near a Campfire to bring all of your dead teammates back at once.

Cure a teammate before death

If your teammate just passed out due to a fall or status effect (poison, etc.), you can cure them using items like a First Aid Kit and more to save them from death before the timer runs out. You can also carry them on your back to stop the timer, but you’d have to ditch your backpack for this. After the timer ends, the player becomes a ghost and can only be resurrected at an Altar/Temple.

Best revive option in PEAK

While the presence of multiple revival options may sound encouraging, bringing back an unconscious or dead teammate in PEAK isn’t a comfortable experience. For starters, if your teammate falls and passes out and you want to patch them up before they die, you’d need to hurry to their location. Even if you manage to do it before the timer runs out, you’d have to climb back to the height you had already reached. And if you’d rather continue on your journey and find a Temple for resurrection, going through the perils of the island alone isn’t easy either.

I’d recommend choosing the Altar route in most cases, as it’s free and brings back all of your teammates at once. Using an Effigy is the most convenient option, but you won’t get many chances for it.

All things said, your best bet is to stay alive, so avoid passing out as much as possible. Make small climbs if you aren’t sure, and try to dodge spikes and poisonous environments. As you explore the island, you’ll find several items, edible and usable, to help maintain your health and stamina or make the climb seamlessly. Playing with friends gives you up to four backpacks worth of space, so you can carry a lot of these useful items to make your journey easier.
