How to increase housing satisfaction in Synergy

Boost this metric quickly while building your world.

Housing satisfaction is one of the most important metrics to monitor when establishing your settlement in Synergy as it impacts city development, population growth, and prosperity. Without happy citizens, you’ll get stuck early on in your settlement’s progress and lose out on key bonuses.

Below, we’ve detailed how housing satisfaction works in Synergy, and how you can easily boost this metric to keep evolving your settlement.

Housing satisfaction in Synergy is categorized into four areas: Culture, Knowledge, Social, and Well-being. Placing buildings, decorations, and plants in the vicinity of housing that impact these four categories will help raise your housing satisfaction score.

As an example, unlocking the Public Spaces Arrangement research node will give you access to two types of benches. These can be found in the Social tab when building, and placing them near your housing will help boost the Social statistic in that area.

Satisfaction bonuses offered by some buildings will be larger than others, as there are three tiers of effectiveness. These are indicated by yellow arrows in the item description. In some cases, lower-tier bonuses will be replaced by higher tiers.

You can monitor your housing satisfaction score with the heat map for the metric by opening the Views tab—indicated by an eye icon—and hitting the housing satisfaction tab in the top right corner of the pop-up menu. This heat map will display your housing satisfaction statistic across your settlement as percentages, allowing you to easily identify areas that need improvement.

You can also look at the in-depth calculation for your current City Prosperity level to learn more about your citizen’s thoughts on their housing.

Hover over the spherical globe icon in the center of the top bar—this will display your district development, housing satisfaction, and whether there are any penalties affecting your metrics. You can overcome these penalties by building sufficient housing and ensuring that medical facilities are available throughout your settlement.

If you’re struggling to find buildable options to boost housing satisfaction, spend some time looking at the research tree and unlock some new nodes. The options available at the start of a game are somewhat limited for building this metric, so you’ll need to unlock new options to play with.
