The best among the rest.

Monster Train 2 offers several clans that can turn the tide of a battle, especially once you know how to take advantage of them. However, while many good clans exist, only one is the best.

Monster Train 2 clan tier list

5. The Underlegion

The Underlegion is a swarm-based clan that you can use to overwhelm enemies with numbers. Their core mechanic, Propagate, allows units called Funguy to duplicate themselves or spread effects when triggered. This happens when they’re summoned, killed, or buffed, making them extremely versatile.

Spells or relics that enhance swarming tactics are best when using the Underlegion. With time and enough practice, you can steamroll enemies with sheer numbers. However, it can take a while to get some momentum.

4. The Banished

The Banished clan is all about building strength through a special buff called Valor. Every stack gives your units more attack, and the front unit gets bonus armor. Many Banished units have a skill called Shift, which gives them buffs when moved. Their Champion, Fel, has powerful upgrade options, like gaining Valor every time she moves or giving all allies on her floor Valor when she’s hit.

However, you have to unlock more upgrade paths for Fel for her to be truly effective. All these make the Banished a strong clan, but not the best.

3. The Pyreborne

Thanks to its flexible mechanics, the Pyreborne clan is incredibly useful. Their unique Pyregel ability makes enemies take extra damage the more it stacks, allowing you to deal massive damage when planned right. Their Champion, Lord Fenix, can become a powerful tank, a Pyregel master, or a gold-generating machine, depending on how you upgrade him.

The Pyreborne are great for learning how to mix offense, defense, and resource management in one fun package, making them a well-rounded clan for all.

2. The Lazarus League

The Lazarus League is a high-risk, high-reward clan, and is one of the most powerful new clans in Monster Train 2. Instead of letting your units die and disappear, you can bring them back instantly through a special mechanic called Reanimate.

Even better, these revived units keep all their buffs, meaning they get stronger every time they return. This lets you stack power quickly and even overcrowd rooms with more units than usual, giving you a big edge in battle. It takes some practice, but the Lazarus League can feel unstoppable once you get the hang of it.

1. The Luna Coven

The Luna Coven is the strongest and most rewarding clan in Monster Train 2 so far. They focus on magic, using two special mechanics: Moon Phases and Conduit stacks.

The Moon changes every turn and your cards and units get stronger depending on the current phase. Conduit stacks boost your spell power, and with the proper setup, you can deal massive damage or heal a lot with just a few cards.

The Luna Coven’s units can be fragile, but combining them with a tougher clan for defense makes them unstoppable. Once you get used to timing your spells with the moon and building up Conduit, you’ll be easily wiping out bosses before they even reach your Pyre.
