Hello hello, MrShine here with a new puzzle series! If you’re anything like me, you probably enjoy bending your brain from time to time with puzzles and other logic teasers. Fortunately for us, Hearthstone is a great place to challenge ourselves and try to discover solutions in seemingly hopeless situations. There are so many different mechanics, and the order of our plays are so critical, that any given situation might have dozens, or even hundreds, of potential outcomes, each slightly different from the last.
The goal of this puzzle series is to take that to the extreme, and engineer situations that have only a small handful of successful solutions hidden in a sea of close calls. The above video is my most recent (and I’d argue best production value-wise) attempt to create a video of one of these puzzles. I’ll throw the earlier two attempts below, since they’re slightly poorer quality but the puzzles themselves are still good.
Some tips before proceeding:
Pause!
If you think I was able to figure these puzzles out in the first 15 seconds you’re crazy. Some of these require a lot of thought to discover the solutions, so don’t be ashamed if you need to pause the video for a bit.
Ties Don’t Count!
We aren’t playing to tie, we’re playing to WIN! And we can! Each puzzle has a solution that leaves us the sole winner, you’ll just need to dig a bit to find it sometimes.
Don’t Leave it to Chance
Sometimes puzzles have a solution if you get lucky, but we aren’t considering those valid because they won’t work every time. Each puzzle listed here has a solution that will ALWAYS work, and that’s the one you should be looking for. Same thing with card draw – unless the puzzle explicitly says what you have left in your deck, you can’t expect to top-deck the answer.
