With the Archon Team League Championships about to get started, the Hearthstone Pro League well underway and the Kinguin Pro League returning in August, it’s becoming a little tough to keep track of all the weekly Hearthstone going on.
That’s about to get a little bit harder still, as another team-based league is launching very soon, according to several sources close to the matter. The OKS.gg Hearthstone League, put together by Gamers League Esports and sponsored by OKS.gg, an online key retailer, will feature 10 European teams.
While the lineup of teams might not be as high profile as a league like Archon’s, the new league will feature teams like SK Gaming, H2k, Luminosity and mYinsanity. Razor’s Edge Gaming, Method, London Conspiracy, GamersLeague eSport, Dactylion eSport and RuZ3 Gaming will also feature in the league.
The league begins in mid July. Three players from each team will play against each other, with the combined scores giving a team match score. Teams will play against each other once per season.
The prize pool is yet to be confirmed, though sources say it’s likely to be significantly less than competitors—at least in the first, trial season. The organizer is targeting a larger prize pool and more sponsors for a bigger sophomore effort.
