Deep Analysis on Latest Spoiled Cards – 3/17

Introduction

Recommended Videos

So, more cards have been released which gave us another nice boost in knowledge regarding the expansion and how it will work.

We got a glance that confirmed my suspects that the Cultists are all Vanilla power-level minions with a boost, which is nice if they end up adding Taunt minions to the summing.

Since our last analysis, which can be found here five more cards were added to the spoiler list, and today we’re here to make another deep analysis on them!

Let’s start!

Klaxxi Amber-Weaver

chillwind-yeti just got outclassed big time. This guy can be played even as a Yeti if you don’t like the Yeti’s art because it is always at least as-good-as a Yeti, which is nice.

This follows the road about all Cultists resembling Vanilla cards, which just confirms my suspicions, but this time instead of buffing C’Thun, this big guy gets buffed in case your C’Thun has at least 10 Attack. Meaning this is obviously a card to make Druids work with the God card.

Being a 4 mana 4/5 makes it so this card can be played on turn 4 without the battlecry proc and still be good, but later in the game it scales very well and becomes an overpowered 4 mana 4/10 minion.

Since we don’t have enough cultists to be able to tell if this will, or will not, be playable, we can just stick to the fact that because of this card’s spoiler and the next one, we can now confirm the total number of Cultists:

  • We have a Total of 16 Cultists, but we’ll have one for each class.
  • Meaning 9 Class Cultists and 7 Neutral ones.
  • All Class Cultists will have a very overpowered effect in Case your C’Thun reaches certain state.

Alright, so more information added to the hub.

Ancient Shieldbearer

HOOOOLY MOTHER this card has an amazing effect whenever you can make it proc. I loved it, but in the end it may not see play because the number of good defensive Control-like cultists might be too low. In case Neutral Cultists are good enough however, this card will for sure see play giving how it’s effect is devastatingly powerful.

C’Thun’s Servant

Alright, now we see the first playable Cultist of the Bunch just get spoiled. I liked this card, it is a very nice 4-Drop that trades well with most of the Post-rotation minions, including the all-star 5-drop azure-drake, leading me to believe this card will have high chances of seeing play. +2/+2 Cultists are very nice, given you only need to play two of them at any time to be able to activate the Worshippers (Class card Cultists).

I loved this one.

Forbidden Flame

“Oh this will for sure play on Tempo Mage” – I highly doubt it. Having the ability to use this as a mana-escape can be good, but this 0 cost portion of this spell does literally nothing. This isn’t a bad card, but it won’t see play in Tempo Mage. However, having this on Midrange-like decks might be useful as this will always curve, regardless of how your actual gaming curve looks like. I liked this card but I am positive it is not a Tempo-Mage card at all.

Forbidden Shaping

Now this is another story. Being able to summon a minion on curve seems quite nice. This looks to me like a total “Unstable Portal” for Priests but much weaker, I dislike Random cards so I hated this card’s very existence, but I have to admit this card has chances of seeing play given how you’ll always be able to curve this, regardless of what turn you’re in – Best amounts of Mana to use this card: 2 against Aggro, 6 Against Control.

Conclusion

And this is it for the cards that were spoiled this far. Any other information you saw and think is important that I left aside? Feel free to post them in the comments and let me know! 😀

Love you guys, can’t wait for the Expansion and the Formats!

Cuddles,

Nuba
