Introduction

Now we’re on the tournament runs, everyone playing all tournaments there are to play without restriction, if it is happening during a time you can play: you play it!
Today we’ll be talking to you guys about not only Hearthstone ladder decks, but tournament ones as well! Because you can never be prepared enough for tournaments!
Note that most tournament decks can also be used in the ladder, but there are things you have to be careful about, fortunately, i’ll be giving you guys the tips you could use to tech your decks for both situations!
The Metagame
Absolutely nothing has changed from last week’s metagame to this one.
The decks that were at the top are still there, in the top, and the decks that were in the bottom are still there.
A couple of different teched deck lists have popped up, but they’re not enough to change a class’ position. However, they’re enough to keep you interested in playing these same old deck lists but with different twists.
Midrange Druid – The best Tournament Deck
Well, it is nice to begin with the deck you should always have within your tournament picks: Midrange Druid.
This deck is always on the top picks and always on the high winrate side because of how consistent it is. Midrange Druid does what it does in the best way possible, and is the deck you should be playing in your tournaments in case you don’t already have something in mind.
This happens because it is a deck that: beats, consistently, what is has to beat; doesn’t have any impossible matchups; has the potential to innervate-win any matchup in the game.
Today’s list is my updated tournament list, which is the most standard Midrange Druid possible but with double living-roots instead of darnassus-aspirant to have a better Aggro matchup and better cards overall, I made this change after getting a top 4 spot in a tournament, I played the deck a lot and noticed how better it would be if those Aspirants were Living Roots. The double azure-drake’s draws make up for the cards being dumped faster from your hand. There isn’t much else to say about this list, it is the Midrange Druid we all know and love.
Reno Secret Paladin
Woah! I nobody saw that coming, but Vlps did it anyways!
I always wondered if it was possible to do such a thing, and Vlps prooved me I was right all this time. Secret Paladin already has so many 1-of options, that changing a few cards for other “techs” can easily justify adding a Reno Jackson to the deck.
Ok, this deck does run duplicates, but all you need to do is play a single mysterious-challenger and your deck will then be filled with 1-ofs.
This is also a nice Tournament deck because your opponents will be, likely, countering you with a Face deck (Secret Paladin’s weakness, together with Freeze Mage that few people bring to the Ladder), little they know you’ll have a timely response for it.
This change fix a big portion of Secret Paladin’s problems in both Ladder and tournaments, and is the change I would support you trying in your own Secretdins.
Anyfin Paladin
One of the most played decks during this week’s tournaments was Anyfin Paladin!
I know, I know, I am posting two Paladins lists this week, but it was needed. anyfin-can-happen based lists were the most played one by top players in tournaments, and with a good reason: it is a decent Control deck, and people still don’t know how to play against it.
This deck’s main plan is simple: Kill everything, heal a lot, draw more cards than a Freeze Mage (and this is what makes this list so consistent), combo and win.
In case you want “somefin” different to play this weekend, I would suggest you playing this one!
D-d-d-d-draaaaaagon Patron!
Woah! Another list that nobody saw coming was Kitkatz’s Dragon Patron! This list basically takes out all the Patron Warrior’s techs and substitute them for a full Dragon Shell.
As of right now, it is still unclear if this deck is better than standard Patron Warrior or not, but it sure has a lot of surprises for people playing against that can’t be denied.
The most interesting thing about this deck. is that just like any Patron Warrior deck this deck draws A LOT of cards, meaning that your Dragon sinergy cards are more likely to be drawn here than in other decks. This deck also has very interesting Dragon choices, but these choices can be swapped by other Dragons without hurting your deck so much.
It is nice to notice how onyxia here works as a bigger dr-boom, but I have to say I am still intrigued by chromaggus – I believe this card’s objective here is to draw lots of cards with battle-rage, but there sure can be better options for this.
I still don’t know if this is a Dragon Warrior with a Patron shell, or a Patron Warrior with a Dragon shell, but the second option seems like the more obvious one.
Conclusion
I am hungry. It is 8AM and someone is making god damn barbecue right close to me, I can smell it!!
And this is it for this week’s Decks to Play. All the lists I posted today are fine tournament options, and are the new lists (with exception of Midrange Druid) that I found this week.
