Captain Blackheart’s Treasure is this week’s Hearthstone Tavern Brawl

This week is full of pirates.

Hearthstone’s Halloween-themed Doom in the Tomb event wrapped up today, but fans of the card game can still celebrate the holiday season by dressing up as pirates and partaking in this week’s Tavern Brawl: Captain Blackheart’s Treasure.

“The Captain left treasure for EVERYONE, but mostly for you,” the Brawl’s description reads. “Each turn, open a chest of three random cards and choose one to put in your hand.”

At the start of a game, players will choose one of the nine heroes. It won’t matter too much which hero they choose since all the characters come with pre-made decks full of two-cost 2/3 Pirates. When a player begins their turn, they’ll discover a card and will get to choose one of three random options, which will either be Neutral cards or ones from their hero’s class.

Since cards are random, there’s not a lot of strategy to this week’s Tavern Brawl—outside of choosing wisely, of course. Players will need to analyze the field of play and pick the best card for the given circumstance. Similarly, the hero they choose will help determine the type of cards they receive, although the hero matchups are luck of the draw.

Hearthstone fans will earn a Classic pack for winning their first Tavern Brawl of the week. Captain Blackheart’s Treasure will remain in rotation for a week before being replaced by a new game mode on Nov. 6.
