After running four successful online invitationals in the second half of 2014, Heroes of Cards will be upping the ante this year with a series of events culminating in a $12,000 LAN event.

Six online Heroes of Cards invitationals will take place throughout 2015, with 16 players competing for $3,000 at each event. Performance in those events will award points, with the top eight players at the end of the circuit qualifying for the LAN finals.

Amarcin "Gnimsh" Filipowicz and Aleksandr "Kolento" Malsh of Cloud9, Nihilum's Dima "Rdu" Radu, and George "Hyped" Maganzini from Tempo Storm will all compete in the event. Also appearing in the series will be Raphael "Hosty" Tsantili, in his first competitive appearance since being dropped from Archon in the wake of stream-sniping allegations. Archon are one of the only top teams not represented in the tournament.

No dates have been officially announced for the tournament, but players involved say the first event will take place this week.

A Heroes of Cards LAN event had been planned for late 2014, but was later scrapped and pushed back to this year. One change that won't be coming to the Heroes of Cards structure in 2015 is open qualifiers, as the organizers have decided to stick with a fully invitational format.

Heroes of Cards dished out $13,500 across their four events in 2014, with Radu, Harry "Massan" Cheong, Jan "ek0p" Palys and Jan "Faramir" Engelmann taking the titles.
