Choose the light or dark side with Nvidia's new Star Wars Titan Xp GPUs
Nvidia's newest graphic card isn't really a new piece of tech, but it is really cool.
The company has just revealed a new GeForce Titan Xp Collector's Edition graphics card with a Star Wars: The Last Jedi twist. The Titan Xp has been revamped to reflect either the light or dark side of the force. You'll have to choose a side: the Jedi Order or the Galactic Empire.
The cards are colored either red or green according to the chosen alliance. They also differ in finish: The Jedi Order GPU has a "battle-worn" finish achieved by subjecting the card's diecast aluminum cover to a corrosive salt spray. The Galactic Empire version has clean lines, mimicking the "high-end, orderly nature of the resource-rich Empire." Nvidia has been perfecting the finishes for more than a year, according to the press release.
Both cards will become available in mid-November, but GeForce Experience users will be able to pre-order now by using their Nvidia credentials in the online store. They're both the same NVIDIA Titan Xp GPUs that use the Pascal-based GP102 GPU, each with 3,840 CUDA cores running at 1.6GHz and 12GB of GDDR5X memory running at 11.4Gbps. (The website also features lightsaber sounds, if you're into that.)
The Star Wars GPUs cost $1,200, which is the same price as the standard version.
