That's a lot of players.

Nintendo Switch Online has over 32 million subscribers, according to the company’s latest Corporate Management Briefing.

As reported by Nintendo Life, Nintendo’s last corporate meeting in September 2020 revealed the service had over 26 million subscribers, meaning over 6 million new users have joined the service since then.

Nintendo explained how it will “continue to improve and expand” its online services, including Nintendo Switch Online and the new Nintendo Switch Online plus Expansion Pack. The new Expansion Pack allows players to enjoy Nintendo 64 and Sega Genesis titles on their Switch, adding dozens of new experiences. Fans will likely see more retro titles join the subscription service, attracting more users to sign up.

Nintendo also recently confirmed the Switch is in the middle of its cycle and that next-gen consoles are still being discussed. This indicates that fans have a significant amount of time left before their consoles are replaced with a better option and enjoying a paid online service is still a viable choice.

Fans can enhance their Expansion Pack experience with Nintendo 64 or Sega Genesis wireless controllers, although they’re currently sold out in North America and won’t be restocked until 2022. But Nintendo claimed that it will continue to improve and expand its online services, so investing in your Switch might be a good idea.
