Biography

Halo 2

The roots of Team Phreaks begin in early 2005, with Chris "ShockWav3" Smith and Scott "Gandhi" Lussier first teaming together at MLG Orlando 2005 as part of team iGameSpot. ShockWav3 and Gandhi placed 2nd together as part of IGS for three events in a row. Ben "Karma" Jackson was then added to the roster, and they finished 1st at MLG Seattle. As the team parted ways with its sponsor, Michael "Strongside" Cavanaugh finally rounded out the roster as the team took on the name it would ultimately hold for only one event - Team Phreaks. Going into the MLG New York National Championships as the 5th seed, the young squad looked to upset some top teams and earn a major payday. Team Phreaks kicked the event off with a bang, upsetting the 4th seeded XiT WoundZ in 5 games. In the following round, they were predictably defeated 3-1 by the juggernaut Team 3D team that had dominated the landscape for the entire year. In Losers, Team Phreaks swept StrongSide's former team Team EG before meeting XiT WoundZ once again in a crucial match with top 3 implications. Team Phreaks kept the series in their favor and won 6-4, guaranteeing themselves at least 3rd place. In the Losers Finals, Team Phreaks shook the landscape by sweeping the 2nd seeded Str8 Rippin and clinching 2nd place. In the Grand Finals, Team Phreaks managed to take two more games off Team 3D, but it was not meant to be as 3D took the series 6-3 and sent Team Phreaks home in 2nd. Going into the 2006 season, Team Phreaks adopted the name Carbon.
