OpTic Halo's Last Chance
Yesterday, OpTic FlameSword made a video with OpTic Maniac announcing their official roster. They spent several days running with different players to find the right fit for the team. They have decided to pick up Lifestyle and Chaser.
FlameSword has had a very rough time building a strong, long-lasting team this season. Although he helped OpTic maintain a consistent placing within the two prior seasons, OpTic hasn't even been able to break into top 8 in the HWC online qualifiers, making many fans concerned.
A longtime member of OpTic Halo, Maniac had two great seasons in H2A. He was slaying very well and really helped make a lot of the big plays this team needed to survive in tournament play. In Halo 5, Maniac’s performance has been pretty inconsistent. It seems as if he hasn't really been able to find his true role on this team. This isn't really all his fault, however, considering all the team changes OpTic Halo has gone through. It's hard to find your true role for a team when your constantly switching players. Hopefully as time goes by, he can adapt to this current team and feel more comfortable playing with them.
Lifestyle hasn't done much within the past three seasons. The last event he competed in was IG Atlanta 2015, in which he placed 8th with his former team Velocity eSports. After that, he competed in a few online tournaments with Noble eSports and eXcellence Gaming but he never looked particularly impressive with them. Now it seems that he has found some comfort with this current OpTic Halo team and will be competing with them in the LCQ.
There isn't much to say about Chaser. He is pretty new to the pro scene and it doesn't seem that he has much LAN experience either. So far on stream, he has been looking pretty good on this OpTic squad, which is a good sign. He seems to fit in very well with OpTic’s playstyle and has helped create a lot of the game-winning plays for the team.
So far, this team has looked better than their former team consisting of FlameSword, Maniac, Assault, and StelluR (Assault joined Triggers Pound and StelluR joined Renegades ahead of X Games Aspen). They seem to be a much stronger objective minded team that is capable of slaying well. They hope to win the LCQ and make it to regionals.
What do you think about this current OpTic Halo team? Do you think they have what it takes to win the LSQ? Let me know in the comments section below.
