It was pretty much the most anticipated day of the year for League of Legends fans: The World Championships started. But well before the games kicked off in Taipei, Taiwan, there was plenty of news to sate the hungry audience, from the LCS promotion tournament to Svenskeren's three-match ban.

But while the esports center of gravity will shift to League of Legends for the next month, there were other big changes in other games, including big nerfs against a couple of Hearthstone cards and the news that a pair of Korean StarCraft pros planned to play in the West.
