Sucker Punch revealed its latest game, Ghost of Tsushima, during today's PlayStation press conference at Paris Games Week.

The samurai-themed open world game is set in Japan, though the trailer didn’t offer much beyond what amounts to great-looking graphics and the promise that it’ll be touching down on PlayStation 4 in 2018.

Sony’s official synopsis says that Ghost of Tsushima is set in 1274 in Japan, following the plight of samurai warriors sworn to defend the country. When the Mongol Empire invades the island of Tsushima, you take up arms as the last surviving samurai to push them out of your homeland. Using the “way of the Ghost,” you’ll rely on all of your training as a samurai to take back Tsushima once and for all.

Sucker Punch spoke at length after the video game showcase about Ghost of Tsushima, noting that there are no waypoints to be concerned with to push players to explore. The game has been in development for 3.5 years thus far, and the team is hoping to deliver a “fantasy” about being a samurai in feudal Japan.

Ghost of Tsushima is the latest project from Sucker Punch Productions following 2014’s Infamous: First Light, which acted as a prequel to the studio’s previous effort Infamous: Second Son. It doesn’t have a concrete release date just yet, but it’s scheduled for release in 2018.
