Pokémon Go is getting a Halloween event this month
Pokémon Go's Halloween event will start "later this month," according to The Pokémon Company.
"The Halloween season is a special time in Pokémon Go," The Pokémon Company wrote in a Halloween-themed blog post. "Plenty of good stuff is coming to the game later in October, and we can't wait to get out and about to see what sort of excitement we can scare up while catching new Pokémon to fill out of Pokédex."
The Pokémon Company did not clarify whether the event will be similar to last year's, or if developer Niantic, Inc. is taking a new approach to the spooky holiday. For the 2016 event, Pokémon Go handed out extra candies to players and made certain Pokémon—like Zubat, Golbat, Ghastly, and Haunter—more common.
More details are expected "soon."
Likewise, the company curated a few spooky episodes of Pokémon the Series to be played on Pokémon TV throughout the month. Pokémon Halloween stencils are available online for players looking for something creative to do, while Mythical Pokémon Marshadow will come to Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon until Oct. 29. Players will have to visit GameStop store locations to pick up a code.
Both The Pokémon Company and Niantic, Inc. are gearing up for the Halloween season, so you should, too. There's plenty of ghastly and mysterious Pokémon to collect in Pokémon Go, Pokémon Sun, and Pokémon Moon.
