The Witcher 3 4K PS4 Pro update is on its way

It'll be a longer wait than just a few days, however.

There’s no real counter argument when the statement ‘The Witcher 3 is the most beautiful game of all time’ comes up in conversation. CD Projekt’s RPG reset the bar when it came to a living, breathing world that was not just gorgeous but full of incredible depth and detail. That detail is about to get more refined with the imminent release of a PS4 Pro 4K patch.

CD Projekt announced its intention to add 4k to the game at E3 when The Witcher 3 was shown as part of the Xbox One X sizzle reel. Described as an "Xbox One X Enhanced" game, details about the PS4 Pro version were confirmed in the following days on Twitter.

The patch was mentioned again this week by CD Projekt president Adam Kicinski during the company’s half-year presentation (you can find it here, it’s a long one).

"We've prepared a 4K version which will be available on PlayStation Pro in just a few days and by the end of the year it will be available on Xbox One X," Kicinski said.

That "few days" statement is currently under the microscope. In a follow up interview about the technical updates, CD Projekt Red told Eurogamer that "more details about them, including the exact moment when they will be released, are something we are going to announce when the right time comes."

It won’t be this week, but the 4K patch is coming to make your Geralt adventure "ridiculously good looking."
