A small tribute to the late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has been found inside of Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon.

In the Game Freak offices in-game, if a player transfers a Pokémon from the virtual console releases of Gold and Silver to Ultra Sun and Moon and talks to an NPC with that Pokémon in their party, he will give some details about Iwata's involvement in the games.

Iwata was the fourth president and CEO of Nintendo, and he's widely regarded as one of the most influential individuals in gaming. After many years of hard work and dedication, he passed away on July 11, 2015. He was one of the leading figures behind the Pokémon series and has constantly been praised for his work to bring Pokémon to the West, even going so far as to help with the coding in Pokémon Gold and Silver.

It's a wonderful reference to a man who worked hard to deliver fun to all games. This is just one more thing that Nintendo has done to cement the late president's legacy.

Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon is now available worldwide, exclusively for Nintendo 3DS.
