On this week’s edition of the Leaderboard, the panel discusses Riot’s continued pursuit of greater control over the teams and competitions that make up professional League of Legends.

The game’s developer has now confirmed their plans to produce English language broadcasts of the LoL Pro League, the highest level of League of Legends play in China. This follows a recent influx of top Korean players to the Chinese league, understandably driving up viewer interest.

Meanwhile, the developer is faced with a decision on how handle allegations from H2K Gaming of Fnatic poaching their players. It’s a decision that will be closely watched following the recent discipline handed out to Counter Logic Gaming and Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng.

Also discussed are Diglife’s majority stake acquisition in LGB Esports and the recent Dota 2 roster turmoil involving Evil Geniuses, Team Secret, and other top teams.
