Chinese publisher Tencent has released new information about a 100-player mobile battle royale game called Glorious Mission.

This new game is undoubtedly trying to capitalize on the massive popularity of PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, which is a big hit in China, where the game currently finds the majority of its playerbase.

A recent report, however, suggested that PUBG could find itself banned in China due to being "harmful to young consumers" and deviating "from the values of socialism." If this were to happen, Glorious Mission could find itself an even bigger niche in the region.

Glorious Mission looks similar to another PUBG-like mobile game in China, although this one looks to be respect the IP a bit more. It seems more and more like the battle royale genre is the gaming industry's next big trend.

It's interesting to note that Tencent owns about five percent of PUBG publisher Bluehole, and a controlling 40 percent of Fortnite: Battle Royale developer Epic Games.
