Steam is now offering digital gift cards that you can send to friends and family, which should take away some of the frustration attached to gift-giving.

Instead of having to dig through hundreds of games that your giftee may or may not enjoy, you can simply hop on Steam, pick out a gift card, and go. You can select from denominations of $5, $10, $25, $50, and $100, and the card is sent right away to the recipient of your choice.

You can only send one gift card at a time, and you can’t use Steam Wallet funds for these purchases, but this should open up a whole new world of flexibility for digital gifting. This new feature comes at a great time, too, as the Steam Halloween Sale is currently live, with tons of spooky deals floating around that just might pique one of your friend’s interest. Then we have the Black Friday and Winter Steam Sales on the horizon, which are huge draws for random acts of gift-giving.

While this isn’t the first time Steam gift cards have been available, since physical gift cards have been available at stores for some time, this is the first time you’ve been able to purchase their digital counterparts.

Now that you know you can buy gift cards, someone on your Steam friend list probably still needs a copy of Secret of the Magic Crystals but is too embarrassed to ask for it outright. You can send a Steam gift card right here.
