Howard elaborated on how Starfield will have more handcrafted content than any Bethesda game and will also have a bigger main quest than other Bethesda titles in an interview with IGN. The massive amount of handcrafted content was first revealed during the Xbox and Bethesda showcase, giving fans a glimpse of the scale of the upcoming title.

Howard confirmed Starfield will have 1,000 fully explorable planets, which players can explore or ignore as they wish. Some fans are nervous about the massive number of planets being a red flag with lackluster and empty environments, but Howard reassured that there is plenty of “handcrafted content” to keep them busy.

The 20-percent bigger main quest is excellent news for fans of previous Bethesda titles who want a long and immersive story. The Starfield main quest will reportedly take 30 to 40 hours to complete, not including side quests and other content. Howard explained the quest is longer than normal because there are more quests and said the developers might fine-tune the size and story before release.

Starfield’s release is still a ways off, however. Fans will have to wait until 2023 to experience the exciting new title. But the highly-anticipated game appears to be worth the wait, especially if the vast amount of content and lengthy main story live up to the hype.
