PlayStation Plus' September free games are on their way. And this time, a PlayStation VR title is included in the lineup.

This upcoming month's offerings, which start on Sept. 5 and run to Nov. 7, include RIGS: Mechanized Combat League. Developed by Guerrilla Cambridge, RIGS is a first-person take on VR sports in which players compete with one another in giant mechs, or "Rigs." Two teams of three face off against each other in three different game modes, including team deathmatch, a take on American football, and a mode where players jump into a center ring to score points.

While RIGS received some mixed reviews at launch, the game was largely positively received, with many praising the title as a solid VR game that merges competitive gameplay with engaging virtual reality controls. Releasing the game for free makes it a pretty enticing option for PlayStation VR owners, seeing how the peripheral's library is slim but growing.

Alongside RIGS, Infamous: Second Son and Strike Vector Ex are also free this month for PlayStation 4o wners. Check out the full September PlayStation Plus list below for free games on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.
