Over a year after its release as a mobile app, Pokémon Go might finally be adding Legendary Pokémon to the game.

The info comes via a Reddit post by user "lightninglemons22," who posted a screengrab from the iOS app store in India. Fans have been anticipating this news for a long time.

The image shows Pokémon Go under the "Great new updates" section of the store, and it says "Special Pikachu with Hat and first Legendary Pokémon."

Legendary Pokémon are the stuff of legend in the Pokémon games—many of the most wished for and favorite monsters are considered Legendary. In the past, players were able to datamine that Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Mew, and Mewtwo were all in the game's data. Until this point, they have been unavailable for capture in the wild.

The Legendary Pokémon could be made available very soon, as the special Pokémon Go Fest event in Chicago, Illinois is set to take place on July 22. This event is a gathering of Pokémon Go players from around the country, and one of the features of the event is "challenges and rewards."

The Pokémon Go Fest website says that players will "[w]ork together with thousands of Trainers in the park and millions around the world to complete challenges throughout the day and unlock amazing in-game rewards globally. More details about these challenges and rewards will be revealed in the coming weeks."

The long-awaited inclusion of Legendary Pokémon would make for a pretty "amazing in-game" reward.
