One of the most sought-after Legendary Pokémon will be coming to Pokémon Go in the next few weeks, developer Niantic has revealed. Mewtwo will finally be available in the popular mobile game, and it will be in a brand new mode called Exclusive Raid Battle.

The new Exclusive Raid Battle feature works a bit differently from the Raids that players have become accustomed to over the past few weeks. Exclusive Raid Battles are invite-only, with players earning their invites through completing a recent raid and defeating a Raid Boss at the Gym where the new Exclusive Raid Battle will be taking place.

Niantic said that the invitations for these battles will include an advance warning of when they will be taking place, so players will have time to coordinate with others before grouping up to take on the powerful Mewtwo, and all future Exclusive Raid Battle bosses.

Mewtwo is just the first Pokémon to be made available in these Exclusive Raid Battles, "but other powerful Pokémon may also start to hatch from the Raid Eggs found at Exclusive Raid Battles over the next several weeks."

As a reward to the community for their capturing of Legendary bird Pokémon Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres, and Lugia, all four of them will be available in Raid Battles from Aug. 14 to Aug. 31. These Raid Battles will be perfect for trainers to level up their Pokémon in preparation for taking down Mewtwo, who does not have a release date yet.
