Mega Man fans rejoiced today after learning that both Mega Man 11 and Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 are headed to the Nintendo Switch. But it looks like Switch users who also collect the series’ amiibos may be in for some good news. The Legacy Collection’s Switch release will also come with amiibo support.

During Capcom's announcement stream, the Japanese publisher revealed that amiibo support will be available with both Legacy Collection releases on the Nintendo Switch. Previously, the Nintendo 3DS' Mega Man Legacy Collection allowed amiibo users to unlock special levels for the game’s Challenge mode. In short, that means users who already own Mega Man amiibos may be able to unlock special features by using the amiibo with their console.

There’s currently two Mega Man amiibos floating out there right now. There’s the official Super Smash Bros. rendition of Mega Man, which launched in February 2016. And there's also a golden Mega Man amiibo, which launched with the original Mega Man Legacy Collection as part of its Collector's Edition. It’s unclear for now if other amiibos will be announced for the game’s Switch debut, but it seems likely, seeing how Nintendo used the Legacy Collection’s 3DS release as an opportunity to promote one.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 & 2 launches in 2018 for the Nintendo Switch. Combined, both collections bring every single Mega Man game from the core series to Nintendo’s latest console.
