Grand Theft Auto 5 has sold over 85 million units, publisher Take-Two's second quarter report for fiscal year ending in March 2018 has revealed. While that's a very large number, it's hardly surprising given the game's popularity.

The game amassed that rather large number of sales over the last four years, ever since GTA 5 launched on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The figure includes PC units as well, after the PC version launched in 2015, and the figure has gone up by 5 million units since Take-Two's previous Q4 report.

This success has catapulted GTA 5 to the top of the charts in the United States as it's become the best-selling game in the country in terms of sales and units sold across digital and physical media.

Those are impressive feats to boast, but it makes sense when you consider how many players are still checking the game out for its various mods, GTA Online shenanigans, and the desire for the single-player content fans still keep asking for. GTA 5 is probably going to continue flourishing for a long time.
